Mudcat Shovelhead Catfish Hoodie
The Mudcat Folk Fish Hoodie is more than a catfish fishing sweatshirt.
The artwork behind this design comes from an actual wooden shovelhead catfish hand carved and hand painted by Jason Smith more than 25 years ago for his parents, David and Lora Smith.
The original carving still hangs over the entryway of their home today.
But the story behind this fish goes even deeper.
Jason’s father, David T. Smith, was the person who inspired Jason to begin carving in the first place—and throughout the years, he was one of Jason’s biggest supporters.
So when you wear the Mudcat, you’re wearing a piece of artwork connected to the very beginning of Jason’s journey as a woodcarver.
