Why catch one when you can DOUBLE UP?

The Double Up Mahi Mahi Fishing T-Shirt from Folk Fish Studio celebrates one of the best sights in offshore fishing — multiple mahi fired up behind the boat and everybody scrambling for a rod.

But there’s more to these two fish than meets the eye.

TWO MAHI. TWO FISHERMEN. TWO ORIGINAL CARVINGS.

The two mahi featured in this design weren’t simply drawn to look different.

They began as two separate custom mahi artworks created by Jason Smith of Morrow, Ohio, for two different fishermen.

Each mahi was individually carved into wood by hand. The carvings were then inked and physically block printed, creating two separate pieces of original fish art.

Those two custom mahi block prints were later brought together to create the artwork for the Double Up shirt.

So the two fish you see aren’t duplicates flipped around on a computer. Each originated from its own hand-carved wood block and its own block print, giving each mahi individual shape, detail, texture, and character.

WHY “DOUBLE UP”?

Offshore fishermen know the drill.

One mahi gets hooked and suddenly the water behind the boat lights up. Another fish appears. Somebody grabs another rod.

Keep the first fish close.
