The Red Drum artwork featured on this Folk Fish Studio T-shirt comes directly from an original wood-carved and hand block-printed fish created by artist Jason Smith in Morrow, Ohio. Jason first carves the fish by hand, then inks and presses the carving to create the original print. That handmade artwork is then reproduced on the apparel, preserving the texture, imperfections, and character of the original block print.
The result is a redfish shirt with an authentic, old-school printmaking feel — part fishing culture, part American folk art.
Inspired by the traditional look of Gyotaku fish printing, this Red Drum design celebrates one of the most recognizable inshore gamefish along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts.
