The Gyo Summer Slammer from Folk Fish Studio combines old-school fishing style with artwork that has a real story behind it.

THE STORY BEHIND THE TWO MAHI

Those aren’t just two random mahi graphics.

The artwork featured on this shirt comes from two separate custom mahi that artist Jason Smith of Morrow, Ohio originally created for two different fishermen. Each fish was individually wood carved by hand and then block printed, creating two unique pieces of original fish art.

Those actual block prints became the foundation for the two-mahi artwork you see on the Gyo Summer Slammer.

That means the fish on this shirt didn’t start with a stock illustration, clip art, or a generic computer-generated fish. They started as real pieces of handcrafted artwork — carved into wood, inked, and physically block printed.

The result is a pair of mahi with their own individual character, texture, and imperfections — exactly what makes traditional block printing so cool.

Solid colors are made from 100% cotton, while heather colors contain polyester blends. The medium-weight 6.1 oz fabric gives the shirt a substantial feel, while double-needle hems and shoulder taping add durability.
