Mahi Mahi Fishing Hoodie | Dolphin Fish Sweatshirt | Original Wood-Carved Fish Art

Before it was a hoodie, it was a 36-inch hand-carved Mahi made for a North Carolina client.

The Mahi Mahi Folk Fish Hoodie brings one of offshore fishing’s most colorful and exciting gamefish to life through original artwork by Jason Smith of Morrow, Ohio.

And like so many Folk Fish Studio designs, this artwork didn’t begin on a computer.

The original fish was a 36-inch wooden Mahi Mahi hand carved and hand painted by Jason in 2025 as a commissioned piece for a client in North Carolina.

That physical carving—with its distinctive shape, brilliant colors, markings, and handmade character—became the source for the artwork featured on this hoodie today.

From a 36-inch commissioned carving to wearable fish art.

MAHI MAHI — BUILT FOR BLUE WATER

Few fish can light up an offshore trip quite like a Mahi.

Electric blues.

Brilliant greens.

Golden yellow sides.

Acrobatic jumps.

And absolute chaos when an entire school suddenly shows up behind the boat.

Whether you call them Mahi Mahi, dolphin fish, dorado, or just Mahi, they’re one of the most recognizable and sought-after fish in offshore sportfishing.

And when one shows up in the spread, nobody on the boat stays seated for long.

The Folk Fish Mahi Mahi design celebrates everything fishermen love about these incredible fish through the character of Jason’s original hand-carved artwork.

MADE FOR MAHI FISHERMEN

This hoodie belongs wherever blue-water fishing stories are being told.

Wear it running offshore before sunrise, looking for weed lines, fishing around floating debris, trolling the blue water, hanging around the marina, cleaning fish back at the dock, or planning the next trip.

And if someone asks about the artwork on the back, there’s a real story to tell them.

It started as a 36-inch Mahi carved for a North Carolina client in 2025.
